We love this region and the people in it. Whether they walk in our doors on Sunday morning or we interact with them in the community, we believe that the best way we can impact our region is to give back.
We have been given so much, and we love the opportunity to give back. Whether it is through out time, talents, or resources, we want to model the love of Christ to those in our community.
Each week at Vertical, tons of people just like you give their time to serve. Whether it’s helping kidz learn about Jesus on their level in vKidz, greeting first-time guests, or pitching in behind the scenes with Production, every volunteer is a difference maker at Vertical!
We know you’re busy, and a million things are competing for your time. But we also know you’ll meet new friends and grow in your relationship with Jesus when you start serving.

vkidz
VKidz is designed to teach kids about Jesus on their level in a safe, fun environment. Each week babies–5th grade kids are taught the Bible in a creative, age-appropriate way while building relationships with adult volunteers. You can serve in VKidz every other week, as a fill in based on your availability, or every week to provide consistency for kid that live inconsistent lives.
fuze
Fuze exist to help students who don't like church meet God. If you love Jesus, middle and high school students, and crazy services, Fuze is a great place for you to serve. Fuze happens in Lumberton every Wednesday night from 6–8pm, and in Bladen every Sunday night from 6-8pm. There are a variety of different volunteer roles at Fuze.
host team
Volunteers on a Host Team specialize in hospitality, helping people feel like they belong at Vertical. From the moment a person steps onto a campus until the time they leave, Host Team makes people feel wanted and welcomed. Host Team offers opportunities to serve before, during, and after all of our Sunday services. Host Team services include parking lot, cafe, greeting, VIP, NEXT, and usher.
NEXT
Volunteers at NEXT help guide people as they learn how to follow Jesus step by step. If you enjoy connecting with and caring for people, NEXT may be for you. No matter your level of experience, there are opportunities to serve on Sunday and throughout the week!
production
Our image magnification volunteers help deliver an excellent, distraction-free service environment. If you’re creative, intuitive, hard-working, and have a passion for visual excellence and details, working behind the scenes with Production might be your next step.
