Pastoral staff

We have a passion for people, our region and our world. Our culture and team leadership is characterized by worship, the love of God, and a genuine call to ministry. Our team is full of great co-workers and energy! It’s a family of people who love to work together and play together.

We’re a community-loving, fun-seeking, coffee-swilling, high-fiving, Jesus-following motley crew.

We are always pressing forward in our call to LOVE God, LOVE people, and SERVE our world.

Say hello to some of the people who make this place feel more like home.

donnie paschall- Lead pastor

Donnie Paschall is one of the founding Pastor’s of Vertical Church. Donnie feels that the call on his life is to help develop passionate leaders who live out a contagious Christian life before those they have the privilege to lead and to teach them about the call of Jesus on their lives to make disciples.

Pastor Donnie served as a Civil Engineer for 10 years following college. Ever since he was a child he wanted to build things. In the summer of 2000 God shifted his heart from a desire to build roadways and infrastructure to building God honoring churches and disciples who want to follow Jesus. Donnie has been serving as a pastor since 2002 and has enjoyed the privilege of pouring into leaders and seeing people come alive in their faith.

On February 3, 2019 Pastor Donnie moved into the role of Lead Pastor of Vertical Church after serving for 8 years as Executive Pastor.

Donnie and his wife Karen, have been married since 1992 and have been blessed with three beautiful children. Pastor Donnie is a die hard NC State fan who loves hiking and playing golf with his son Dylan and hanging out and being goofy with his two daughters Marissa and Jordan. Donnie and Karen have enjoyed the many opportunities God has given them to do life and ministry together and they look forward with eager anticipation to many more opportunities God will give them to help people find a meaningful relationship with Jesus.

pastoral COUNSELING

Our goals in Pastoral Counseling are to guide and help individuals discover Christ-centered answers to a wide range of personal, relational, financial or other challenges. We have trained counselors and pastors who facilitate a free service for individuals seeking guidance for a variety of issues including marital and family relationships, communication and intimacy, parenting, grief and loss, anger and bitterness, inner personal struggles, and spiritual discouragement. Our volunteers receive extensive training, ongoing supervision, and continuing education.

If you are someone you know could benefit from counseling, you're not alone! We have many from our congregation who have (and still) meet with our pastors monthly and weekly. If you would like to schedule an appointment or just have some questions answered, we'd love to connect with you!
